history repeating

Another face from the past found me out at a night club. She spent all night flirting with me in her oblique way, hours and hours of her lecturing me on my triumphs and failings of femininity. Yawn. I spun away and kept dancing, but really I was flirting back. Her (handsome, well-dressed playboy) arrogance is greatly appealing, if something I am aware I should be cautious of. In the mid-hours of the morning she pulled me onto her lap, left her hand on my thigh. Kissed me before she left. I confuse her, I can tell. Before she kissed me she pulled her face back from mine and stared at me, trying to read something. I was having fun avoiding the interpretation. She gave up and kissed me anyway. We may or may not be going to the movies tonight. I haven't been on a movie date in a very long time.

Such appalling weather. To be enjoyed from the indoors only, with endless cups of tea in hand. I feel I should buy groceries and set about an afternoon project of making cupcakes or brownies from scratch. Unfortunately all the people I would like to have around to enjoy such baked products are annoyingly vegan. My chocolate brownies are not vegan-friendly. I wonder how it came to be that my decidedly carnivorous, dairy-product consuming self has so very many vego and vegan friends?
